1st Day: Arrival at Port Blair by flight
Board your flight for Port Blair. On arrival there, you will be met by a MakeMyTrip representative who will transfer you to your hotel in Port Blair. Upon arrival at the hotel, proceed for check-in.
PORT BLAIR: The Andaman and Nicobar Islands were shrouded in mystery for centuries because of their inaccessibility. Shimmering like emeralds in the Bay of Bengal, the islands are a paragon of beauty and present a scenic and picturesque landscape. The dense forests which cover these islands and the innumerable exotic flowers and birds create a highly poetic and romantic atmosphere. Imagine white beaches on the edge of a meandering coastline, palm trees swaying to the rhythm of the sea, and beautiful coloured fish swimming in crystal clear waters. The beauty creates an infinite romantic impact.
Post a delicious lunch (on your own), proceed to Anthropological Museum and Naval Fisheries Museum(Closed on Mondays). This place depicts a peek into the way of life of the Paleolithic Islanders. It also houses the models of the aborigines and their tools. Next, visit Corbyn’s Cove Beach – a serene and unspoiled soft sandy beach set in picturesque backgrounds of lush green coconut palms and pleasant sea. Later, witness the Light and Sound show at Cellular Jail – the saga of countless martyrs of Indian independence struggle who laid down their lives. The show is conducted every evening in the premises of Cellular Jail which gives us a brief idea about the happenings in the jail prior to independence.
Later in the evening, return to the hotel. and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel in Port Blair. Note – In case Day 1 of the itinerary falls on a Monday, Museum visits shall be conducted on Day 5.
2nd Day: Port Blair – Havelock by ferry (30 kilometers, 1.5 hours)
After a hearty breakfast, check-out from the hotel to visit Ross Island (closed on Wednesday). Alternatively. customers will also be taken to Cellular Jail and Samudrika Museum (both closed on Monday). Later, board the ferry for a journey to Havelock Island.
Ross Island: Famous for its friendly flocks of deer and lush green walking trails, this island is a peaceful destination. It now stands as a ruin of the bygone days with the old structures almost in debris.
On your return to the mainland, proceed to visit Cellular Jail, the colonial prison used by the British to incarcerate political prisoners and freedom fighters. Among other things, you can see the cell occupied by Veer Savarkar and the gallows where many freedom fighters were hanged to their deaths. Also, visit a small museum named Samudrika that holds photographs and other antiques of the British.
Havelock Island: Havelock Island is famous for its pristine beaches, coral reefs, and a relaxing holiday. It is one of the few inhabited islands of Andaman and Nicobar and is named after Mr. Henry Havelock, a British General who was based in India. Havelock Island was once home to the indigenous tribes who spoke Aka-Bale language. The tribal population of Havelock Island declined greatly during the era of colonisation of Andaman and Nicobar by the British. The original natives of Havelock Island are now extinct and the island is now occupied mostly by Bengali and Myanmar immigrants. Sightseeing in Port Blair will be subject to Ferry Timings, overnight stay at the hotel in Port Blair.
3rd Day: Port Blair -Neil Island – Port Blair by ferry (4-5 hours including an excursion to Neil)
After buffet breakfast, check-out from the hotel. Transfer to jetty to board the ferry for Port Blair via Neil Island. Disembark at Neil and visit Bharatpur or Laxmanpur Beach (depending on tide conditions)
Much quieter than the Havelock Island, Neil is a perfect island for those seeking peace and seclusion from the humdrums of tourist footfall. This triangular island has many natural beaches and attraction. Bharatpur beach is a beautiful white sand beach. One can relax here, go for a stroll on the sand, or take a glass bottom boat to view the corals. The sea around the jetty area is full of corals with colourful fishes swimming around. Post the beach excursion, overnight stay at the hotel.
4th Day: Port Blair
On this day, guests who have missed the visit to either Ross Island or Cellular Jail due to monument closure shall be taken for these visits. Alternatively, optional activities are available for those who wish to do something else.
Later in the day, visit Sagarika for shopping and spend the evening at leisure. Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay at the hotel.
5th Day: Port Blair
Take rest in the hotel or Day for free.
6th Day: Departure from Port Blair
Check-out from the hotel and get transferred to the airport. Board your return flight and carry wonderful memories of your trip!
